So.
A quick recap of what I've been up to, just in time (a few days late, unfortunately) for the new year.
Coding
Unfortunately I've paused all progress on that front. Don't really have the time to attend to it at the moment. I've also spent some time during December going through some tutorials about coding, and unfortunately most seem to be detailing the more philosophical aspects of coding, rather than the technical-educational side of it.
Perhaps an alternative way of learning would be through an online platform like Udemy. I'm not really sure though.
New Project
I've got a new project (a startup of some sort, if you can call it that) that I've been working on at the moment. Unfortunately it's mainly conceptual at the moment, so I have to spend some time thinking about the overall design approach, as well as bringing the idea to life (it's not technically hard to bring it to fruition. It just requires a strong vision and most importantly, time (which I don't really have much of, at the moment).).
New Laptop
CES 2015 is unlikely to bring something exciting (for me, at least) in terms of the laptop front. I'm probably going to stick with a Mac-based laptop (been a Mac user for 8 years now), although I have to say the new line of ultra-low cost Windows 8 tablets (with a proper Intel CPU) is quite tempting. Might get one to play old games. Probably won't though.
I'm still alternating between the upcoming retina MacBook Air 12", or the (hopefully Skylake-based, but probably Broadwell-based) refreshed retina MacBook Pro 15".
We'll see how I feel when either one/both gets released.
Meta
Have to say I'd really appreciate a tag browser for Ghost. Right now, my workflow for establishing what tags I have (and to maintain a consistent way of using tags for tagging blogposts) is the manual way: going back to the internal list of articles that I have, as well as the front-facing part of my blog.
I took a hiatus (mainly forgot about this blog) so I haven't really worked on the missing domain aspect of the blog. It's still running on the IP that my hosting provider allocated to me, so I'll have to take time out and think of a good name for a domain.
That's about it. There's not much worth writing about at the moment.
